NAPA Racing UK's Dan Cammish had experienced a relatively low key start to his Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season heading to the most recent event at Snetterton.
A steady start of three top ten finishes at Donington Park was followed up by a more encouraging Brands Hatch, with third in qualifying and a season's best of fifth place in the final race in Kent.
It was still a case of what might have been, however, with Cammish's second row starting berth being immediately scuppered in the opening race. He showed his pace – maybe somewhat under the radar – in the next two races as he stormed through from the back to take seventh in the second encounter and that fifth in the reversed grid race.
Fourth in qualifying at Snetterton continued the trend before he converted that into a fourth, second and another points paying position in Sunday's finale.
Cammish's first podium of the season was the highlight of course and he was the third highest points scorer on the day – behind only the BMW duo of Jake Hill and Bobby Thompson.
Now up to sixth in the overall Drivers' standings, the likes of Cammish and Josh Cook will feel they can haul themselves even closer to the leading quartet, as we head towards a happy hunting ground at Thruxton.
